As we can see from the table above showing the odds from esteemed betting site William Hill, Manchester City are yet again the first choice prediction.

Manchester City

It doesn’t come as a surprise that Manchester City are the bookies favourite. In the last seven years they have won six times, losing only to Liverpool in 2019/ 2020 where they came in second place. Led by Pep Guardiola since 2016 when Manuel Pellegrini was replaced, the legendary team are expected to yet again win the Premier League title under his careful management.

Manchester City have been on a winning streak, as they also won the Community Shield against Manchester United recently, proving that their resilience is unbreakable in a variety of circumstances. The statistics speak for themselves, and whilst it is impossible to correctly predict the winner, it would be reasonable to expect another win from the eminent team.

Arsenal

Arsenal is another justified favourite, with 13/8 odds to win the Premier League title. Although the renowned team haven’t won a single Premier League title since 2003/ 2004, they have come frustratingly close multiple times. In both 2022/ 2023 and 2023/ 2024 Arsenal took second place under the management of Mikel Arteta, and with hard work and new tactics can finally win. Alternatively, Arsenal fans can hope that Manchester City have an unlucky season, for example due to detrimental injuries. Grealish and Casante are being assessed, which could work in favour for the other teams.

Liverpool

Many Liverpool fans were thrown into turmoil with the shock resignation of Jurgen Klopp, who diligently guided the team for nine seasons since 2015. Liverpool won the Premier League in 2019/ 2020 which was the first and last time, and also notably won the Champions League in 2019. With a new leader, Arne Slot, they could very well be the dark horses to win the Premier League title, as long as they quickly adjust to the changes faced.

With all these things in mind and more, bookies currently predict that Liverpool have 13/2 odds, which is a respectable decision. Furthermore, Mohammed Salah boasts odds of 10/1 to win the Golden Boot.

Chelsea

Chelsea has no doubt had a turbulent time in the past few years, sifting through managers quicker than any other prestigious team. Although they have world class players which reflects in their rankings, and they are in the top favourites for the Premier League title, they aren’t number one. This is understandable considering their last win was in the 2016/ 2017 season, and they haven’t shown much promise since.

With this being said, bookies favour Cole Palmer to be the winner of the admired Golden Boot, currently at odds of 20/1. This is if he can outdo Erling Haaland.

Hopefully with the help of Enzo Maresca, Chelsea can surprise viewers and punters alike.

Manchester United

Despite many controversies, Manchester United have managed to make the list of who the bookies favour to win the Premier League title this season. They are first to play; the Manchester United vs Fulham match is on the 16th August 2024 and will be a home game at the Old Trafford.

After a jubilant albeit surprising win against Manchester City in the FA Cup Final of 2024, Manchester United proved that under the leadership of Erik ten Hag, they are not to be underestimated. However, their last Premier League victory was a long time ago in 2012/ 2013 with Alex Fergueson. Under their belt they have the most titles of any team (winning 20 times), so maybe things only look bleak in comparison.

Tottenham Hotspur

Lastly, Tottenham Hotspur have odds of 25/1 of winning the Premier League this upcoming season. Whilst this seems unlikely and the odds appear depressing, stranger things have happened. Spurs manager Ange Postecoglou has some interesting tactics which undoubtedly spice up the games, and there is no question that the team are exciting to watch. Whilst avid fans will bet on them regardless, it is dubious that they will receive a medal, never mind a trophy.
