Osprey Sirrus 24 Women’s Hiking Bag Review (After 2.5 years!)

Osprey sirrus 24 hiking bag for women
I bought the Osprey Sirrus 24 women's hiking bag back in May 2022. After almost 2 and half years of use, only now do I feel qualified to actually write a review! So here's my honest take on this hiking backpack designed specifically for the female body.

I bought my Osprey Sirrus 24 women’s hiking bag in May 2022. As I write this review, it’s October 2024, so it may seem I’m a little late. But in all honesty, I really think you need to give a hiking bag an absolute TON of wear before you can review some of the really important stuff like durability.

I bought this bag because I had been bought the Osprey Sirrus 36 for Christmas 2021 and LOVED it. But I wanted a smaller version for shorter hikes and particularly for scrambling routes.

So I bought the Osprey Sirrus 24 because I knew it would have lots of the same benefits of the 36 litre version, including features specific to hiking bags specifically for women’s bodies.

Let’s dive into the review.

Osprey Sirrus 24 Review (After 2+ Years of Use)

In short, the Osprey Sirrus 24 is a solid 4.5/5 for me.

Here she is, very well worn, my trusty old Sirrus 24.

I LOVE this bag for short day hikes.

Let’s look at the pros and cons.

Osprey Sirrus 24 Pros

Osprey Sirrus 24 Cons

The only real negative thing I can say about the Osprey Sirrus 24 is the fact that it does sit at the pricier end of the market. So for those of us who have multiple hiking bags of different sizes, it can rapidly add up.

But the flip side of this is that this bag has LASTED! It’s been scratched against rocks countless times on scrambles and still it lives on.

Yes, it’s scratched and worn but is still in tact without holes. And when I say it has been through it, I really do mean it!

I also love the Osprey women’s bag features – things like the narrower hip belts, curved harnesses, adjustable chest straps and shorter lengths, make a huge difference to comfort when out on a longer hike.

So in all, this was well worth the investment in my view.

Osprey Sirrus 24 – My Favourite Features

My favourite features on this are the durability and fit.

But a special shout out for:
  • A brilliant fitting integrated rain cover
  • Hip pockets
  • Adjustable length for differing torso lengths
  • Hiking pole loop
  • Really good sized hydration bladder pocket and loops on the strap to put the straw through
  • 3 different usable compartments
  • A decent sized main compartment for the size of the bag

Would I Recommend the Osprey Sirrus 24?

Yes. Without a doubt. I’m hoping to get another couple of years out of mine yet but I’ll definitely be replacing it with another when it does finally give up!

Best Portable Charging Banks for Hiking in 2025

Traditionalists may not like it! But personally, I don’t like to risk being stuck on a hill or mountain with a dead phone or head torch battery. So I like to carry a portable charging device (or 2, or 3) with me. Here are the best portable charging banks for hiking that I’ve used. (And I’ve used a lot, by the way).
